hello i’ve started work. to celebrate, i tried to find all ‘the office’ stereotypes.
michael scott- definetly my boss as she spent the first three hours of her day calling up her relatives and talk in her shanghainese dialect and english about dinner on tuesday night. and she’s always late.

Yes to Stanleys and Phyllises in the building. There’s like 20 of them. i love them all.
One male presence in my department. He wears pink and is extremely tall. I’m going to assume Oscar.

i should start looking for a job as an extra.
btw, i finished the first season of true blood…absolutely amazing. and yes it’s better than twilight.

i’ve been really busy…with ib and also planning for summer.
ib: 3 weeks until the exams come. i’m freaking out about my HLs. well, my SLs too. D:
summer: i have a summer job. i’m working in the HR department of a large firm. they gave me some salmon as a gift. i asked them if it could come out of my paycheck. she laughed and said “i just don’t like fish”.
i’ve been reading a lot. i read creative capitalism last week, i didn’t finish, though i plan to asap. i’ve also been listening to tribe called quest and the killers. i’m really tired…so i’m going to go and read another chapter from my book and go to bed. AND IT’S ONLY 11:17 ON A SATURDAY NIGHT. D: bye!!!

okay so a lot of things have happened since my last post. let’s just begin with where we left off with my last post regarding universities.

Universities:
I have not yet been rejected to any universities!! :0) I would like to thank God, my family, U2, friends, and anything else I would say if I were to win an Academy Award. but I’m pretty sure I’m going to get one. Oh, and something really exciting, I got into film school. :0) it’s uber expensive ($50,000 USD) so I’m going to have to think about that one…

Mocks:
I had my mocks at the end of February and I just got my results back. I can’t believe there’s less than two months until I’m done with IB.

Cambodia:
I went to Cambodia for a week in early March (specifically Siem Raep and Phnom Penh) um I was with a group of girls from my school helping out some ex sex traffickers and teach them some new skills like MUSIC(!). some of the girls are truly talented and it’s a bit saddenning to see how they were treated early on in their life.
oh and people thought I was Cambodian. (what a surprise!)

Cultural evening:
I’m preparing the North American Cultural evening for a school performance. It’s really crazy, and I’ve improved a lot on dancing. I feel like I can actually kinda dance now.

30 Hour Famine:
I’m organizing a 30 Hour Famine at a local school in Hong Kong on Saturday. It’s a lot of work and I think I’m getting a bit sick, but everyone else on the team is healthy and working in full productivity mode.

that’s about it and what’s happened to me in the past month. I hope that was entertaining. OH YEAH AND I GOT THE SUPER MEGA DELUXE EDITION OF THE U2 CD. it’s a birthday gift. :0) because i’m getting OLD.

YES I GOT IN. I CAN’T BELIEVE IT. THEY HAVE INTERNSHIPS TO DIE FOR AND IT’S IN NASHVILLE. I CAN STUDY IN NASHVILLE. I AM SO HAPPPY. :0) my parents aren’t though….hahah they kinda just went like “didn’t you say that program was hard to get into?” “yeah mom, and i got in!” “…but it’s…**NASHVILLE**” lol

oh and the new U2 album is amazing. go stream it on myspace.

i’m a terrible parent.

hey everyone..merry christmas (though it’s passed) and have a happy new year. i spent my christmas with a friend and we watched black caesar with his cat on my lap.

HIS CAT IS SOOOOO CUTE. seriously. it’s a grey kitty, to be precise. i don’t know the type, but it looks really REALLY sad. like, it’s just a naturally sad looking grey kitty. and so i asked my friend why he got her and he was like,
“i was passing by a pet store and i saw the kitty. she looked really sad, so i bought her hoping to cheer her up. it’s been two weeks since i’ve bought her and i’ve come to realise that she just looks that way…unless she’s sad that i bought her.”
“maybe it’s sad because you’ve gotten her for two weeks and she still doesn’t have a name?”
“maybe.”
so we come up with a list of names. he’s more into greek mythology, so he came up with names like Juno, Daphni, Dido, while i came up with more traditional names like Sophie, Jane, Susan… we came to a compromise of Daphnie, because it’s a mix of delphi and sophie, though i don’t think any ordinary person would realise that as it’s only the spelling which is really actually changed…whatever.
so we call the grey kitty daphnie and it responds to it..kinda. we kinda stare at it, and it realises that we’re calling her.

it’s not looking any happier though. maybe threats will work… “LET’S PUT A SMILE ON THAT FACE!” no?? okay, well, at least it has a name. good times. happy new ear! i’m sick, so i don’t know if i’ll be happy. hopefully the illness will pass by tomorrow and i will have a happy new year. bye now.
